Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today released the Children’s Services Transformation Advisory Council’s Initial Findings Report.
This report summarizes the findings from public forums the council hosted over several weeks to understand local barriers and best practices in child welfare. Thank you to all of our members who participated!
The feedback you provided was critical to the formation of this report, whose common themes include:
Prevention

Kinship
Foster Care
Adoption
Justice System
The Children Services Transformation Advisory Council, announced in November of 2019, is made up of families, youth, and stakeholders, and has representation from four Ohio Children’s Alliance members and our CEO, Mark Mecum. Shortly after their formation, the council hosted 10 regional foster care forums throughout the state to better understand local challenges.
Now, members of this Council are participating in intensive monthly meetings where they will develop recommendations that will be issued to Governor DeWine by early summer. Stay tuned for more updates as we move into the next phase of this process! This will be a topic discussed at our next Foster Care Committee meeting on 2/11.
